Can I import Gift Cards that were already disabled?

Yes. If some of your Gift Cards were disabled on your old system (for fraud, refunds, expired promos, etc.) and you want them to come into Shopify already deactivated, just add values under the Disabled At header to your Gift Card CSV with the date the card was disabled (YYYY-MM-DD format).

• If the Disabled At date is today or in the past, the card is imported and then deactivated, so it comes in with the right balance but customers can't spend it. Deactivated cards also skip the customer notification.
• If you leave Disabled At blank, the card imports as a normal, active card.

One thing to know: a deactivated Gift Card can't be re-enabled in Shopify, so only use this column for cards you truly want disabled.
